The SlingLinkTM acts as an extension cord for the Internet by using your home's existing electrical wiring to transmit the ethernet signal from your router. Just plug one SlingLink into the wall near your router, and plug in the other SlingLink wherever you have your Slingbox installed, and voila! You're connected to the Internet. However, if youre into that post-Apocalyptic look, with wires hanging throughout your house, or if you'd enjoy the company of an expensive technician sent to re-wire your home, then the SlingLink is probably not right for you.
Additionally, you should know that the SlingLink won't impact the performance of your network. It simply sends your home's Internet connection from your office to another household room via your electrical wiring. So wherever you have a wall socket, you can also have a broadband connection.
